Collection: Charcoals & Pens

A collection of black and white drawings, landscapes, as well as sheds and occasional seascapes. Some of these are used to make the digital colour versions for print, generally this is done in photoshop. Many of the subjects here are from my own photographs.I'm a great believer in the beauty and art of the shed and those people who use them, or neglect them. They are true artists indeed, though most of them are not aware of it.

The charcoal drawings are my most recent works, and are preparatory studies in many cases before I take to painting them. There are as yet none of my paintings on the site but that will change in the next year.

The line ink drawings date back a few years now and were my first ventures into landscapes.

I like to experiment with many different media, the subjects tend to be the same that have always inspired me: the local Gloucestershire landscape as well as sheds and industrial detritus.I am a loyal and keen member of the Corrugated Iron Appreciation Society.
